How donations work
- The speaker sets an hourly rate which they hope, if attained, would make offering visits more sustainable.
- Visits are sporadic, compared to the steady income of a regular job, it is still financially very challenging but they work mainly
فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّٰهِ. - Travel fuel and time is included as it is especially important that speakers can support rural schools.
- Donations go directly to the speaker's PayPal account, no money is handled by this project and no share taken.
- This project is automatically notified of how much is donated to the speaker and that is then deducted from the amount still requested by that speaker, preventing accidental double funding.
- If you give more than the amount needed for already logged visits, the full amount goes directly to the speaker and the extra is set against funding of further visits they register with this project.
- The project has no way to make sure additional funding is spent on more visits but the speaker will only be able to apply for more funding here once existing overpayment has been used for new logged visits.

Thank you again for visiting last week. The children loved being able to listen to you and ask their questions. Here is the feedback from the two teachers and a photo.
'Thank you so much to Sharon for coming to speak to the children this week. Hearing her journey was so inspirational for the children and helped them connect with exploring faith in a really personal way. It was lovely to hear her give the children the time to ask questions about what it means to be a Muslim, and I was most impressed with how sympathetically she handled the deeper and more challenging questions. After the talk, the children showed a much keener interest in learning about Islam through their religion and worldviews lessons; This was evident as the children quickly skimmed through their classwork books to find ways of connecting their learning to the questions they wanted to ask her! A moment which really stood out was when one child, after hearing Sharon take such pleasure discussing her faith, felt inspired to talk about his own experiences of Muslim worship in front of the class. What an impact! We would be delighted to have her back again!'
'Thank you Sharon for sharing your experience and knowledge with us. The children later expressed how grateful they were and how interesting they were in your journey. It was fantastic to see how you sparked the children’s curiosity and how you allowed time to answer every child's many, many questions - you handled them all brilliantly! We thank you for sharing your story with us. We would happily have you back again.'" — Ellacombe primary school
